PT Partners stand at Sensors and InstrumentationAs with any trade show, you always hope the hard work – before, during and after – will pay dividends.
So we were pleased that last week’s two-day Sensors and Instrumentation exhibition resulted in a number of reasonable leads.
It was our second time at the show, held at NEC Birmingham, and what was particularly interesting is the diverse nature of sectors that these leads emanated from.
We spoke to a number of clients about potential interesting projects – which certainly made our attendance at the exhibition worthwhile.
We have spent the last few days progressing with this interest and we hope to announce more news soon.

We are delighted to be taking our place at next week’s Sensors & Instrumentation exhibition at the NEC Birmingham on Tuesday 26th September and Wednesday 27th September.

The two-day showcase is the UK’s only national sensors event and you can find us on stand number K20.

It will be the second year we have exhibited at the prestigious show – and we generated a number of new leads following a successful debut last year.

PTP is delighted to welcome Seamus Rafferty to the team. Seamus joins us from e2v and has substantial software development expertise, particularly in National Instruments LabVIEW.

PTP has added three new engineers to the team in the past three months as the company continues to grow strongly. Kevin Snelling, one of the company’s directors said; ‘It’s great to welcome three talented engineers to the team. Gideon, Kenneth and Seamus bring with them a wide range of skills which enhance our ability to deliver larger and more complex projects to our clients.’

PTP is under new ownership

Cambridge based engineering consultancy Product Technology Partners (PTP) is now under new ownership. The company’s Engineering Manager, Ian Hurst, acquired a shareholding in the business on December 1st 2016. PTP specialises in custom Test & Measurement, Control Systems and bespoke software solutions for clients across a wide range of industries.

In his new role as Director of PTP Ian said: “Since joining PTP, I have come to realise how strong the company’s ability to provide solutions really is and how much potential for the future the business has. It is clear that the company is very well positioned to grow and that its skills are very much in demand. It is quite rare to see an organisation with such a wide range of capabilities and experience. I really look forward to helping provide the direction and focus to take PTP to the next level.”

PTP’s other Director, Kevin Snelling, said of the purchase: It is great to start the New Year on a high with Ian taking a directorship and co-ownership of the company. Ian’s wealth of commercial and technical skills have already helped PTP move in new directions and both Ian and I are looking forward to fulfilling our expansion plans and addressing the challenges that 2017 will bring.

Ian has over 30 years of software, electronics and systems development and 25 years of experience engineering and project management. Ian’s previous role includes Head of Operations for Pi Technology (a 140 person automotive consultancy) and Assistant Director of Controls Systems at Ceres Power (an innovative fuel cell technology company), as well as various project management and engineering management roles in leading companies in the Cambridge area.
